Blu-ray finally got its 3D specs completed, and players, discs and HDTVs are expected to start hitting the consumer market sometime in 2010. According to Sony the specs will be backwards compatible, allowing 2D discs to still play on 3D Blu-ray players, as well as allow 3D discs to play on current market 2D Blu-ray players (of course only in 2D).

Looks like Sony is almost ready to roll out some new Blu-ray changers! The Sony 200- and 400-disc Blu-Ray changers will likely be hitting markets soon. They were unveiled at CEDIA, but no official date was announced. The Sony BDP-CX960 will hold 200 discs and the BDP-CX7000ES will hold 400.

The Japanese consumer-electronics maker said it will sell two Blu-ray players world-wide and seven Blu-ray recorders in Japan this year. One of the players has been available in the U.S. since July, priced at $399.
