Amazon looks set to start selling HD video downloads any day now, hot on the heels of Apple’s iTunes HD movie offering, which was unveiled yesterday. Amazon’s web site already contains links to HD versions of TV show downloads, but while the actual show detail pages weren’t available, we found some juicy details about HD pricing:

“Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” will officially hit the streets Oct. 20. The Michael Bay film, which earned over $820 million at the box office, will come in a two-disc Blu-ray set, as well as single-disc and two-disc standard-def DVD versions.

Megan Fox will be devouring teens for breakfast in high-definition at the end of the year. In another retailer announcement, 20th Century Fox will be summoning 'Jennifer's Body' to Blu-ray on December 29.

Time Warner Cable recently announced they'd be expanding their metered billing trial into four additional markets: Rochester, NY, Greensboro, North Carolina and Austin and San Antonio, Texas. In Rochester and Greensboro, the company stated they'd begin tracking user consumption this month, then start charging users the planned $1-$2 overages per gigabyte sometime this summer.

The number of households unprepared for the digital transition has declined slightly since the beginning of March, Nielsen Media Research reported today. Improving by about 350,000 homes since March 1, the percentage of homes completely unprepared for the digital transition stands at 3.4% as of March 15.
