Could things be going any worse for DISH Network who has just announced it would pay $104 million to TIVO for stealing its DVR patent? The satellite television broadcaster was sued in 2004 and found guilty in 2006. Yesterday DISH said they would pay, but it appears the appeals will continue.

In a statement DISH said, "Because of the Supreme Court’s decision, we will pay TiVo approximately $104 million (the amount the jury awarded in 2006 plus interest). The money is in an escrow account and will be released to TiVo in the next few days."

Other bad news recently for DISH who will no longer have a partner in AT&T come 2009. AT&T will begin a deal with the company's competitor DirecTV instead.
